There are a lot of people interested in making money online and hence I have this guide where I teach you the basic affiliate marketing strategy that is helpful for beginners.
This affiliate marketing strategy has some basic FREE affiliate marketing tools that you might need along the way and in case you are serious, I can help you one on one to build your business.
But before we get into that, let’s cover some basics of affiliate marketing and how you are going to get started with it especially if you are a beginner.
I always try to explain everything in the most simplistic way but even after reading this post, if you have any questions. leave them in the comments below!
1. Do you need a BLOG to make money with Affiliate marketing?
Yes. You do need a blog to make joey with affiliate marketing. Of course, if you want to make money through Pinterest then you can always make money without a blog.
But in my personal opinion, I would always suggest that you have a basic blog as it really helps to build your audience through a blog and connect with them.
You do not need a fancy blog, to begin with. You need a simple blog and in the beginning, you can just get started with WordPress to get the feel of blogging.
I personally love to blog and it is amazing how through a small blog, one can reach so many people and discuss their interests.
Pinterest allows you to make money with affiliate marketing without a blog and even though this might sound easy, you do need to have some basic knowledge about affiliate marketing to make money with it.
Although once you get the hang of it you can easily make money through this platform and you are clearly not going to regret it.
You can even end up making thousands of dollars online through Pinterest without a blog if you play your cards right.
But, I would always recommend having a blog to get started with affiliate marketing, I mean when it is free to get started then why not?
2. Selecting a niche that works
This is the most important and challenging for someone who is just starting out with affiliate marketing.
Most of the people who want to make money online are stuck on this question- Which niche is the most profitable and which niche would help them make the most money.
In my opinion, you can make money within any niche, given that you have enough traffic. You just need to make sure that you have a narrow niche in the beginning.
Narrow and slightly specific niches can get traffic much quicker than broader niches that take years to get enough traffic.
I have blogs in different niches and all of them do well because they are in specific niches.
Niche research can take you months of time but it is well worth the time because that way you can significantly reduce the time your blog takes to get traffic.
I have a blog that instantly started getting traffic with just 15 posts and then I have blogs that struggled to get traffic even with 400 posts.
So, the key to having a successful blog is selecting a niche the smart way. You can hit me up with your niche ideas in case you want me to help you select a niche the right way.
If you want more help then you should definitely join Wealthy affiliate where they guide you on how to start your own blog and select your own niche.
I could help you there more often since I’m online on that platform throughout the day helping people with their blogs.
It’s a monthly membership of $49 and you should seriously consider it if you want to make some serious money online.
Otherwise, you still might find a great niche but it would just take you longer to do the research and learn the right way in which you can select the best niche for yourself.
3. Posting Content and Keyword Selection
Next up comes the most important part of blogging which is keyword selection and posting content.
If you want your website to rank well in Google then you have to do some good keyword research and select topics to write about that are easy to rank and get lots of traffic.
There are so many tools to do that and I personally love using Jaaxy which I get within my Wealthy affiliate membership so yes, the WA membership actually has everything I need to help make money with my blogs.
But you could use other keyword tools as well, I remember using some other keyword tools but they give you limited information since you are using the free version.
Jaaxy too has a free trial and you can try it out even when you are not a member of WA.
So, your goal is to find a keyword that has low competition and still gets a considerable amount of traffic. There are times where I have had no competition and the keyword had a lot of traffic.
This way I have ranked #1 on Google for so many keywords and my traffic soared.
So, choose your keywords carefully and your blog would be on its way to making more money for you.
If you want to get traffic then taking your keyword game seriously is the key, check out this post on a few tips that I highly recommend to get free targeted traffic to your website.
Also, if you want to know more about the keyword tools I use then check out this post on my free keyword tool review.
4. Monetizing your website
So Finally, we reach the most important stage of your blog. Making money with it. Now, once your blog has a considerable amount of traffic, you can definitely make money with it through ads.
I do not personally use Google Ads, but I love Mediavine ads where you can make thousands of dollars from your website just with ads alone.
This is how you can make money with ads but you need to reach a certain requirement like 50,000 sessions per month in order to get into Mediavine.
How do you make money before that?
Well, you can join some affiliate networks relevant to your niche and promote good quality products within your niche to your readers.
Once a reader clicks on your affiliate link and buys something you get a commission.
So if someone buys something worth $500 through your affiliate link and the affiliate commission for that product was 20 percent, you get $100 as commission.
This can easily add up and you can easily make $500 per day through your website, so instantly within a month, you make around $15,000 which is a full-time income.
This is completely doable and if you put in some persistent effort in your blog, you can easily achieve this level of success online.
But realistically speaking, you might initially make $5000 a month and it would slowly grow as your traffic increases, but even that is a good income for someone who has a blog as a side hustle.
Affiliate marketing that way is way better than ads and you make a lot of money with it.
Another way you can make money is with sponsored posts. They do pay a bit but I never do them until I genuinely like something but in case you like them, you should do it.
They pay well and if you can write a couple of them every month then you can make a consistent amount of income with them as well.
So, this is the basic affiliate marketing strategy for beginners and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I loved creating this post.
If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below and I would try and answer them as soon as I can.

Note- This post does contain affiliate links and they in any way do not mean that you pay anything extra. It just means that when you buy something through those links, I get a small percentage of commission and you support me and my blog.
