Quictate is a website that offers you online gigs to transcribe audio recordings. The more the number of audio recordings you transcribe, the more you are going to earn money.
However, the earnings are $0.25 per word which is not that great and you should consider this as a part-time income source.
The work is really easy to do and almost anyone who knows the language can do it without any issues.
The website does accept applicants from other countries as well apart from the U.S., however, it does exclude some so make sure that your country is in the list in order to get started.
How to get started with Quicktate?
Getting started with the website is really easy as all you need to do is enter your name, email address, and a password. You have your account made and on the next page, you would have to fill some basic personal information about yourself.
Now, I was a little skeptical of giving the website my contact number as most of the sites take your number and then start spamming you.
Although, once you fill in all the details, you can get started with transcribing. It is not as easy as it sounds though, they are going to send you the files to transcribe and the frequency of the files that are sent your way, affects your pay as well.
The pay already is not that great and the only way one could have made a full-time income from this website was if you received a lot of files to transcribe.
So, already the earning potential from the website seems very little.
What I liked about the website
1. Transcription is a pretty easy task to do and does not require a lot of technical skills. If you are good at the language, you can easily get the job done.
2. You do not need to have any special skills to join the website.
3. It is easy to join and you do not have to pay anything so it is worth a try for someone who is interested in it.
What I did not like about the website
1. The pay is extremely less. It is so less that I would really not recommend anyone to waste their time earning pennies from the website.
2. You cannot make this a full-time job as it would not be able to get you a full-time income. If you are looking for something that would give you a stable income then you might want to look into other options.
3. The frequency of the voice clips that are sent your way is not that many so you do not have a lot of earning potential as well.
Would I recommend this website to anyone?
You can give Quicktate a try but overall, I would say it is better to give this one a skip and save your time. You are going to be investing a lot of time when it comes to listening to audio clips and transcribing them and the pay is in pennies.
So, if you just want to earn something in your part-time then you can look into this otherwise there are way too many other ways out there that you can get started with making money online.
Instead of investing your time in this, you can learn the right skills that would help you make money online on autopilot.
