I have been doing Pinterest recently, and believe it or not, pinning has improved the stats on my blog, and there are some insane results from it. Hence, I would be sharing my Pinterest Keyword Research Guide.
There are some keyword ideas that I take from my usual Google Research because that’s how I get the titles for my new posts. Still, if you are looking for keyword ideas that would specifically work within Pinterest, then this is the perfect post for beginners.
In this Beginner-friendly guide, you are going to learn three basic ways that can help you do some keyword research on Pinterest. These methods are pretty easy, so make sure you try them!
1. Using Pinterest Keyword Suggestions
Using the Pinterest Keyword Suggestion is probably one of the easiest ways to get some keyword suggestions, and it is very similar to the Alphabet Soup technique, which I have discussed on this blog earlier.
But let’s have a look at how this works on Pinterest. All you have to do is type a word in the Pinterest search bar and see all the recommendations that you get in the dropdown bar.
This is one way to extract some keywords related to the term that you are searching for. For example, you have a niche website on blogging, then you have just to type blogging in the search bar, and you get a lot of keyword recommendations.
Now, it’s time to go specific. If you want to be thorough, then all that you have to do is click on any one of the keywords, then you get on a page where you have your search results.
At the top of the search results, you see a bar that recommends some related keywords to you; that is another way to find some keywords as the people who are searching for the keyword ‘Blogging for Beginners’ would be interested in topics related to those keywords as well.
So, ‘how to start a’, ‘Starting a’ and all the terms suggested above can be used along with blogging. So there are keywords like How to start a blog or Starting a Blog can be good topics to start with on Pinterest as they are more searched for!
The longer the keywords the better it would be so that you can rank easily and you can rank for more keyword terms and they are not going to be high traffic keywords, so having a pin on ‘Step by step tutorial for beginners on how to start a blog’ is much better than a pin just saying ‘how to start a blog’.
2. Using Keywords from Pinterest Ads
Pinterest Ads is underrated in Pinterest, I have been using it a lot and if you are interested in a course on Pinterest ads then let me know in the comments below!
I have been using Pinterest ads and I have got some amazing traction on many pins. If you are interested in getting the same results then maybe you can target some keywords from their Suggestions.
You can even use these keyword suggestions while you write your post. Although make sure you do not use it more than 2-3 times in the post so that you avoid keyword stuffing.
There are many suggestions that you can get this way and it is probably one of the best ways for me to look for tags and then use them while posting my Pinterest Pins.
These keywords are pretty general and small in length, like ‘Blogging tips’ is a keyword but it is pretty small in length and hence you might want to use it in a phrase like Blogging Tips for Beginners that will DEFINITELY WORK better than just using Blogging tips alone in the post.
Make sure the keyword is just naturally inserted in your title and you do not need to insert it in the same exact sequence as you see in the recommendations.
For example- ‘Top 5 Blogging tips that will help you increase Traffic’ is a good way to use the keyword ‘blogging tips’.
Such terms are really going to help you rank sooner and you are going to figure out that
3. Bonus Method
This was something that I discovered recently, well to be fair, I have been in the Pinterest game for just three months but if you want to get ahead of your blog competition then it is important to know what is in trend.
This way you can even get some content ideas for your new blog post and since it is already a topic in Pinterest trending it can do pretty well on Pinterest.
If you have not yet tried this method then I highly recommend that you do so as it can really help you get some amazing new ideas in your niche.
I usually try out these ideas myself and then write about them and promote the blog post on Pinterest. If you haven’t done this then I highly suggest that you try this for your niche and see if you can come up with some interesting crazy ideas.
In order to get started with this you need to go to your Pinterest Business Account>> Analytics>> Trends. There you get a search bar and you can type any keyword that you like.
You soon get recommendations and all the trending topics related to the keyword. I often use this when I need new keyword ideas and some of them are pretty new, so you can easily rank for those topics in Google as well.
