This is an interesting money-making opportunity but I wanted to see how easy it was to get started with this website and how soon would I be able to make money from this.
Not all websites are easy to join and even though they promise that you would be able to get work soon and be able to make money by the end of the day, it is very rare that all of it is true.

What Is Scribie?
Founded in 2008, Scribie is an online transcribing service and job platform. The website pays users to write words they hear, in a prescribed and pre-decided format.
Users essentially have to hear a short audio file and type the audio in an online word processor. The audio files range in duration but are generally short, that is, not more than 6 minutes in length.
There’s a special set of instructions given which each audio file, which the transcriber has to follow. The transcriber is given a two-minute window to complete the transcription job.
The transcribed file has to go through a verification process, where it is quality checked by the website moderators. Once the moderators are satisfied by the work, they approve the file.
The file is then transferred to the customer. On reviewing the file, the customer makes the payment on the website. The payment is then transferred to the transcriber’s account on an hourly basis.
Application Process & Pay
In order to get started with Scribie, the transcriber is first required to pass a test. You can apply from any corner of the world, but you must obtain a transcription certificate from Scribie before commencing your services.
For getting a certification, you have to first open an account and give some basic details. You also are required to sign-up and verify your email. Scribie takes one day to analyze your application and will respond to your application via email.
If your application is accepted, you’ll be enrolled on to a waiting list. You’ll be designated a waiting list number. Once that number hits zero, you’ll be emailed an invite link, that you can use to create your Scribie account.
After the profile creation, you’ll be required to give an onboarding test. It would be a simple test where you’ll be transcribing an audio file, as accurately as possible. Scribie will contact you with the test results soon.
If you pass the test, you’ll be awarded the certificate. This allows you to take real-life projects and earn money. If for some reason, you fail the test, you’ll have a total of 10 attempts to pass the test.
The pay at Scribie ranges from $5-$25 per audio hour. That means, for transcribing one hour of audio, you’ll be earning anywhere between $5-$25.
The website pays every day via PayPal and has no withdrawal threshold. You can withdraw any amount without any minimums.
Pros
1. The website has lots of assignments. There is a lot of earning potential.
2. The cash out times is very fast, without any minimum withdrawal requirements. The website also pays via PayPal.
3. There are no application restrictions. Anyone from any part of the world can apply on this platform, and start earning.
Cons
1. The onboarding process is quite challenging and tedious. You are first put on a waiting list and then made to pass a test before you can start earning on the website.
2. The per-hour rate is very less for an amateur. It takes practice and experience, to be able to make a decent amount of money from transcribing.
Would I recommend this website?
Like I suspected you need to be REALLY good to get a job at this platform.
I think being average or just above average is not going to suffice and to be honest, the tests that you need to give before getting a job is just annoying especially if you do not end up getting the job.
You can give this opportunity a try but it just seems so difficult for everyone to get through with it. If it was. a tad bit easier like the iWriter Platform where you get started with making money online as soon as you sign up and give a simple test.
Scribie makes a few things complicated and if you are willing to go through the entire process then you should give this website a try. However, there are less stressful ways to make money online and I would discuss one of them in the rest of the post.
Conclusion
If you start getting gigs at Scribie, it can be one of the best ways to make money online but to reach that phase, you ahve to struggle a lot. There might be a possibility that you get rejected and never get a gig at all.
There is a lot of uncertainty in this opportunity and if it works out for you then, Great! But if you are a beginner and you know you are not going to be able to make it with this website then I have another easier way to make money online.
